LEANNE FAINE


Excellence is an understatement when it comes to the undeniable talent of God’s anointed servant Leanne Faine.  She possesses a perpetual and soulful spirit equivalent to the brightness of the sunshine.  This spirit of excellence is certainly demonstrated on her latest project entitled,  I Got It (Holy Ghost).   


The lyrics and musical arrangements on her various projects create a compelling fusion of harmonious sounds, while the  great musical story of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Leanne Faine's music is a must have for your music collection. 


Music is in the very fabric of Leanne.  She was born with an intrinsic melodic distinctive voice.  In fact, she celebrates a compelling musical heritage. Her vocal talents can be traced back to the churches of Inkster, Michigan where the sanctuaries were filled with the flavor of traditional songs of the Late Reverend James Cleveland, the Roberta Martin Singers, the late Dorothy Love Coates  and The Original Gospel Harmonettes, These legendary gospel greats were strong influences in her life.


At the age of 15, she sang with the Southwestern Michigan Church of God In Christ State Choir as a lead singer under the direction of the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.  She also sang with James Cleveland and The Meditation Singers, Effie Moss and the Celestials.   After relocating to Chicago, Illinois and recording with several groups and church choirs, the Lord directed Leanne to the Grammy Award Winning Reverend Milton Brunson and The Thompson Community Singers , affectionately known as “The Tommies”.  As a premier lead vocalist, she had countless No.1 hit songs with The Tommies., such as, The Holy Ghost, Waymaker, Guess You’re Wondering and Just a Prayer Away, to name a few.  


Her solo ministry discography includes I Got It (the Holy Ghost), a solo single produced by the late Cornell Thigpen. The self-entitled project Leanne and The Conqueror, which remained on the Billboard charts for an awesome 35 weeks and was nominated for a Stellar Award.  Serve The Lord was a church staple across the United States and abroad.  Her ministry has expanded and she was a featured soloists and actress in several play productions, such as  “Spare The Rod Spoil The Child” and “I’ll Take You There”.


Leanne coordinated and sang background on Vickie Winans’  “Woman 2 Woman” live CD & DVD recording.  She completed a mini tour with the Queen of Quartet Evelyn Turrentine-Agee.  She recorded a live CD and DVD with Bishop Larry D. Trotter.  Leanne travels extensively across the United States ministering at churches, conferences, workshops.  Her travels led her for many years to become a featured lead vocalist for the Gospel Music Ambassador , Dr. Bobby Jones on his hit  BET show  "Bobby Jones Gospel" with the Nashville Super Choir.

Leanne was blessed to be featured once again on the recent Tommies Reunion Choir Project.  You can see this great choir in a city near you.  She was requested by Producer Larry Scroller to be a featured artist for Mick Jagger singing Gimme Shelter on the project Chicago Plays The Stones, which was released in September 2017 (originally recorded by The Rolling Stones).

Leanne is not just an American legend as international crowds have been graced and wowed by her mesmerizing, energetic, soulful performances. She has toured and participated in some extravagant international music festivals in Paris France (2010), Morocco North Africa (2017) and Victoria Spain (2018).  She shared the stage with some of the countries most popular artists including,  Africa's award winning group, Lady Bird and the world renown Earth Wind & Fire.

 

She never falls short of giving her all as audiences are awed by her compelling contralto vocals that resound with joy and vibrant power.  Unquestionably, Leanne’s ministry and vocal talents are an excellent demonstration of the healing power of music.
